
CV Upgrade FAQ
How do the CV Upgrade CV services work?
This is a 2 stage process:
- 1. We carry out a free CV Assessment of your existing CV and email you a detailed audit report on your CV, giving you a report on all the important areas of your CV including CV layout, content and suitability of your current CV for the role(s) you are applying for .
- 2. You can then choose to purchase the CV Upgrade option that we recommend based on the assessment of your CV that has been carried out by our experienced staff. This will either be the CV Upgrade Lite package or the CV Upgrade Premium package
Customers who choose to take our free CV Assessment service are under no obligation to choose one of our paid-for CV Upgrade services subsequently.
Please note that our initial free CV Assessment service is available to European Union (EU) member state residents only. There is a small charge for this service for non-EU residents.
How long does the CV assessment and Upgrade process take?
We aim to carry out the initial free CV Assessment service inside one working day (subject to workload) of receipt of your Assessment request. If you then choose a CV Upgrade service we arrange a telephone interview with you at a convenient time and we will then deliver your upgraded CV online within one working day of this interview. We can of course fast track any urgent requests through our process.
How does the CV Assessment service work and what do I get?
When you choose our free CV Assessment service using our online request form you send a soft copy of your existing CV to us plus a few other brief details. We analyse your existing CV and will send you a personalised Assessment Report on your CV. This is delivered to you by email. The CV Assessment report will recommend one of three options.
- 1. Your CV is top class already and we feel that we can’t add any further value to it.
- 2. Your CV has certain named defects and requires some work. We are recommending our CV Upgrade Lite service
- 3. In our opinion your CV requires a major rewrite and we may be recommending that you require more than one version of your CV if you are interested in more than one role type.. We are recommending our CV Upgrade Premium service
The CV Assessment report will include an assigned reference number for you plus a contact number that you can call us at to discuss your Assessment Report if you so wish.
Will the CV Assessment report always recommend that the more expensive CV Upgrade Premium Service is required?
Not at all. If your existing CV is fine we will be happy to tell you this! If your CV requires relatively few changes then we will always recommend the CV Upgrade Lite service. Also for graduates or those with less than 3 years commercial experience (hence less complex CVs) we will never recommend that a CV Upgrade Premium service is required.
How do the paid-for CV Upgrade services work and what do I get?
If you choose to purchase a paid-for CV Upgrade service this will initially involve us interviewing you by telephone (typically for 20-30 minutes or for longer as necessary depending on the complexity and seniority of your experience) at a convenient time about your career aspirations and elements of your CV such as your career history, skills and experience, where we feel that more information is required. Within one working day of this interview we will deliver your new CV (or CVs if you are interested in applying for more than one role type) to you via email. By default we deliver CVs in Microsoft Word 2003 format as this is the standard format preferred by recruiters.
When you receive a copy of your new CV from us you will have a 10 day period to raise any queries you have on your new CV with us by telephone or email and we will make any requested alterations free of charge within this period and resend an updated CV to you. The soft copy of the CV that we send you will not be a protected document so that you can make any future changes you desire yourself directly in the CV document that we send you.
Is this a confidential service?
Absolutely, your CV will be completely confidential to us and it will not be distributed to any other company or persons outside CV Upgrade.
What if I am not happy with the results of the CV Upgrade service?
When you receive a copy of your new CV from us you will have a 10 day period to raise any queries you have on your new CV with us and we will make any requested alterations free of charge within this period.
Customer satisfaction is very important to us and if you are not completely happy with the end result after this two week period then we will fully refund the cost of your CV Upgrade service subject to a handling fee of €10.
